Teaching Themselves the Truth
Captives of a Concept
by Don Cameron

When it comes to helping someone realize that what they believe about the Bible (or their religion) isn't true, the normal approach is to try to teach them that what they believe about the Bible (or their religion) isn't true.  This is what Jehovah's Witnesses try to do as they go door-to-door, and especially during their "free home Bible study" activity.

They don't spend a billion hours a year looking for someone to teach them anything - especially about the Bible or their religion.  When it comes to such things they view themselves as the teachers and everyone else on earth as their potential students.  The only time they view themselves as students is when "God's organization" is the teacher.

Captives of a Concept tries to take advantage of their desire to teach others that the Watchtower Society is God's organization in the hope that  in the process they may teach themselves that it isn't.   It's a matter of getting them involved in teaching the right subject.  The book identifies that subject and offers some suggestions how to get Jehovah's Witnesses involved in teaching it.
